I have two cats (3 yrs old) Shamus and Remmington, that I adopted at the same time from the Humane Society.
My daughter recently moved back in with us along with her two cats, Mama and Cozmo.
Shamus gets along well with our new feline houseguests, but Remmington, who is very timid, has definitely shown signs of withdrawl and doesn't care to socialize at all. She hides away in my bedroom all day and whenever the new feline residents come near her she growls and hisses. She has been urinating and deficating around the house and seems to have lost weight.
My question is: How can I help her to accept her new family members?!!
Should I consult my vet on a medication to help her aclimate to her new situation?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Getting along
You don't need to consult your vet about medication for her (she doesn't need it), but what you DO need to do is consult him, get her into see him about the weight loss. Extreme stress that causes sudden weight loss can fast lead to Hepatic Lipidosis, this is a degeneration of the liver and is a serious condition.
Don't wait on this, get her seen by your vet immediately for an exam.
Your daughter and you need to work together on introducing the cats together...please use the search form here and enter the keywords Introductions and time-outs....you will find several other posts of the same, in which to find tips and helpful suggestions. The priority is getting Remmington seen by your vet right away to rule out a potential developing illness.
