Well, as the saying goes, 2 steps forward...(I just hate the 1 1/2 steps back)! It's a good morning....

Peanut is fully hydrated this morning, and there is definitely some food gone from the dishes I left out with dry food. I let them both alone free in the apartment last night and they're getting along wonderfully. Her eliminations are much more solid now, not watery. Yay!

Boy, how am I going to act when I have a human baby -- I'm a complete wreck with kitens! LOL!

Thanks Jason -- and everyone for keeping up the encouragement.

Actually, you might still need to be concerned. I'm confused on the timing here...you said you got them last weekend, do you mean on the 3rd or 4th? If so, and since you've described Peanut having been dehydrated, skinny and not eating, you need to ensure that something else is not going on.

What was the dewormer your vet used first, and what did he send home with you? Ideally, droncit is used for tapeworms, given once......strongid for roundworms and hookworms, given in two doses, 14 days apart. What was the dewormer the rescuer used?

Have both of them been tested for FELV/FIV? If not, now is the time to do so, and I would even recommend a fecal exam for Peanut on the offchance worms may not be the problem, but potential coccidia or giardia, etc. Also, her nutrition and hydration are crucial right now, especially in the face of stress (new home, etc)....a 3-month old kitten should be gaining weight and maintaining that weight, be active, energetic and playful, and wanting to eat frequently because they expend their energy moreso than adult cats.

You said they were "mostly" eating Science Diet...so, what else are you feeding them?

I would get her re-evaluated by your vet or a new vet, make sure her oral health is good (teeth coming in properly, no oral problems, etc)....get her hydration status checked thoroughly....ASAP.
