Help! My cat snores!

Post by adriayna »

Hi everyone.

We got a new cat for Christmas (Half-Hymalayan, Half persian 5 year old female) and she spent her first night with us last night. She likes to be around people and slept with us in bed last night.

One problem though--she snores! We aren't sure what to do--we certainly don't want to lock her out of the bedroom at night, but at the same time, we need to sleep.

Any suggestions?

Has she been examined by your vet yet? (we always recommend an immediate vet exam when aquiring new kittens/cats)

Since the persian breed has a shortened nasal stem, you want to be sure your new kitty isn't or hasn't developed an upper respiratory infection (could be mistaken for snoring).....your vet will be able to determine if your kitty has an infection and/or is predisposed to them.

We have an appointment set up for this week, so I will be sure to ask the vet to check on it.

Thanks for your help!
