like a reasonable amount for Pebbles...she is now 5.2 lbs. I looked it up for children's use and see that they recommend 15 mg for a 2 to 8 year old. If I remember correctly that would be from about 20 lbs to 80.

I do trust my vet but am just a bit over cautious for my Pebbles....I couldn't handle anything happening to her.

Looks like your vet dosed in the median range (i.e., formulary is 4 - 8 mg/kg every 8 hours), so it's in a safe range. However, I'd see how she does on it once before you actually leave, that way, if she seems alittle too out of it, you have your vet available and/or to lower the dose.
