We started using Revolution which was recommended because of the boys' liver disease. Is there an extending schedule like there is for interceptor and heartguard?
Mikey is doing ok. He is not eating very well. He ate some canned Select Care sensitive for a few days and quit. We'll get a bag of the dry tomorrow and see if he likes that. He usually prefers dry. He's 5.2 lbs...about half lb less than an ok weight for him, but at least he hasn't lost any more. He feels really good on dex days and just ok on the off day.

Revolution is a once-a-month administered preventative, is that what you mean?
Curious, what are your vet's comments on the inflammation, just my opinion, but seems like since he responds so well to the Dex, there is increased inflammation somewhere slow to respond. Did they give you the option of treating with oral pred instead for initial treatment/recovery or did they feel it was contraindicated at this point? I wouldn't think it would be, but I do wonder if he would have a better recovery time with a low-dose pred rather than Dex injections.

Re: Revolution/M update
He is on oral Dexamethasone which was compounded for the proper strength. The compounding pharmacy loves my credit card LOL The delivery guy asks about Mikey when he drops off the meds.
Pred is contraindicated with his particular liver condition. He is at risk of developing ascites from it. It is not just IBD as the source of inflammation, but his liver as well. Dr. Center's protocol has low dose dex every three days. Mikey has already been increased both in his dose and frequency. I think if the new food and another week of every other day dex doesn't see improvement, we'll consult with her again. I know half the battle is finding a diet he tolerates. She assured us that we could get him feeling normal again. Hopefully it will just take a few adjustments.
He's also on:
sucralfate TID
pepcid BID
metronidazole BID (he's been on this since August and it is one med we want to get him off)
vitamin E 25 IU SID
denosyl SID
