Hi -
I have a question. My cat has a runny nose and his right ear is just a little red inside. He has been rubbing his ear on my hand like it is bothering him. Could he have an ear infection?
Also, his "Forehead" is very warm. Is this the sign of a fever?
And if it is some sort of cold, do I need to take him to the vet?
Thankyou for your time,

Ears and runny nose
Re: Ears and runny nose
How old is your kitty? How long has he had a runny nose?
As for the ear, this could be anything from earmites to a deep-seated infection, only your vet can determine upon an exam.
The only way to accurately monitor the temperature is rectal temp or using a veterinary ear thermometer.
Yes, get your kitty seen, he could have more than one problem going on, it's impossible to guess here. Any symptom that persists past a couple days demands a vet check.
