help with Lucy's eye problem

Post by inch »

I have been to the vet with Lucy she has one watery eye. They used a glowing stuff to look at the eye and found nothing. The watery discharge is clear, no redness. she is eating and playing with no problems. She is a house cat. They gave us a ointment I have been useing it for 3 days with no improvement. Any suggestions. She doesn't rub it and seems fine. thankyou

Depending on the ointment prescribed, I would continue it for another couple days yet. For example, if Terramycin or BacNeoPoly. However, if the ointment contains a cortizone/antiinflammatory, call your vet back and tell him you are concerned that you are not seeing improvement, he may need to re-examine the eye and investigate further.

Sometimes foreign bodies are the problem, or a scratch that may not have been detected upon exam. If a foreign body, it could be loosening at this point and may heal on it's own, but after a few days on an opthalmic ointment and you see no improvement, it's time to consult your vet again.
