I'm really scared for my cat

Post by samtron »

OK, I have a kitty.. I named her Miss Kitty. She should be about ... 1 1/2 years old right now.
She has been showing some strange behavior lately. Here are some of the symptoms she has been showing (I can't explain these very well)
she will be licking herself or just stick out her tounge and it goes to the side of her mouth and she starts shaking her head like it's .... stuck, or something.. and she gives this rowl that sounds a little painful. I've seen her do this a few times and I really have no clue what it means.. She has also been just a little distant towards me lately, I don't understand this.
Reciently we got a new cat, my sisters cat Mr. Kitty and he has claws.. and they play and he has scratched her on the chin before but it's healed since then.. I think I nursed it pretty well.
Anyway, if anybody can help me figure out why she is doing this, please tell me.. because hearing my cat make that noise and seeing her like that really scares me. I've tried to open her mouth and see what's wrong with her but she really just won't let me.

Thanks in advance
Samantha

Could be anything from an oral problem, loose or broken tooth, to foreign body, to string under the tongue. Don't wait, get her seen by your vet promptly.

I once saw a program on Animal Planet -- a cat had gotten a sewing NEEDLE stuck in the roof of its mouth! Once the vet removed it, kitty was fine. One time my Poopie kept making "choking" noises. It turned out she had a sore throat. I would take kitty in for check up soon.
