Why you do not want to wait to treat any sick cat.
Why you do not want to wait to treat any sick cat.
my daughter's friends cat who is outside and inside, suddently was not eating and laying around. The mother waited about 4 days to take him to the vet, they gave him sub-q fluids etc, did tests, but his pancreas shutdown and they other organs began shutting down as well.
He died today sometime at the age of 5 years old.
My first reaction if that they are negligent of course, and then I cried for him.

So sorry to hear that...
Oh Mona, what a sad story. My heart goes out to this poor cat. May he have a safe crossing to the bridge...bless you for caring.

Mona, I'm so very sorry, I know how much it hurts.
We see this all the time, weekends, holidays, wee hours of the morning, complaining about emergency fees when all they had to do was bring the pet in at the first sign of illness. "how long has he/she been exhibiting these signs" we ask..."several days" they say. And then they expect miracles.
Banging head against the wall...

i always asked the kids how long the pet has been::
sick cause they gave an honest answer, the parents would say 2 or 3 days and the kids would pop up "dad, he's been sick for two weeks, remember when it first happened.?'
More on angel kitty !
I found out that they put the kitty in a box on the patio and just left him there. Mind you these are educated (schooled) people. THe vet told her that he would have had a very good chance had they brought him in days earlier. Looks like some type of poisoning from outside.
The laws for this should be tougher, the same as for human children in my estimation.
Sorry I am still venting on this one, and I join you in you headbanging Traci and Ma!!'
Godspeed little guy, a beautiful black long hair 5 years old. Mona

I know it really hurts, Mona, it becomes very close to home when we see, feel, touch, know and love a precious furbaby, even if they are not owned by us. People like that really make me sick, they don't deserve to have the love of a pet.
Know our hearts and prayers are with this beautiful kitty, he will be in guiding hands by those who have gone on before him....(((HUGS)))

lots of head banging going in hear
I've seen this at the ER vet too....one night I was in there and they had a cat with urinary blockage whose owners were out of town...the petsitters had called the owner two days before to let them know the cat seemed lethargic, and not very playful. The owners did not suggest taking it to the vet....but two days later the cat had collapsed and was in kidney failure due to a blockage...the petsitters were all torn up and crying. They had never had cats before and had no idea what to do, they relied on the owners to advice them. &%#@ people...if it were my cat I'd have been home in a heartbeat.
I'm so sorry Mona...these people should never be able to have another cat IMO
