I think my cat is very sick....

This is very serious without food for this many days, and she probably needs hospitalizing. Is the vet aware of this? She should be on fluids and force feeding, otherwise she will not recover with this long and no food. Other people can verify this I am quite sure, that have gone through this.
Call the vet immediately and ask to have her brought in. Not eating for a few days can cause liver damage. Cats must have food and proteins to support their organs. Fluids must be administered and most likely she will have to be force feed with canned food.
Do not delay call now as this is serious.
Good luck and please update.

*IF* she had received sub-q fluids, this should have perked her up considerably and she should have had slight interest in food and water, the fluids also would have helped reduce the fever.
While it's very likely an abcess is the problem, you can't risk other types of injury, such as internal, did your vet at least x-ray her and perform a CBC? I would be for getting that done immediately. And for what it's worth, most puncture wounds CAN be found if one searches thoroughly, including shaving the fur in areas that are suspect for a bite wound.
Please call back your vet and tell him that your kitty has not eaten since Sunday, that she is still not interested in food and water, and that you are concerned she hasn't responded to the fluids (if in fact given) and antibiotics. If you're not comfortable with this vet, see another one ASAP.

Re: I think my cat is very sick....
Well, I just got home from taking Sparkle Kitty to the vet. They kept her for at least overnight. I looked at her gums and they are still a pale white-pink color...not like normal. Her temp is 102.5, which the doc said is normal. They said the antibiotics are affecting her since the temp came down. They gave her an antibiotic pill (I've not been able to get it down her throat) and a shot of some sort. They said that they were going to give her appetite stimulants and keep her for observation. She (the doc) said that abcess can take some time to get over and that everything is probably fine. I felt sort of silly taking her back out there but her behaivor and the not eating bothered me. I even got a can a food and tried to spoon feed her, but she buried her head in the corner of the couch. I'm going to call the vet late this afternoon and check on her.
Thank you all so much for the help and the encouragement. Ya'll are a neat group of folks to 'take in' someone elses problems and treat them like you do!!!
Kudos to you all.....

Hey Angie...don't feel silly about taking her back to the vet...you did the right thing...she wasn't well and needed to be taken care of. I was terribly worried about her not eating, especially since I had a cat develop hepatic lipidosis a few years back and have to have a tube surgically inserted to feed him. It's no fun I tell you...I hope the appetite stimulants work...praying for your kitty

Thanks for taking her back to the vet!! I am relieved that her temperature is down and hope she eats soon. If not , I am sure the vet is giving fluids and can try to force her to get her back to herself.
Please let us know how she is doing. We all do care about her, by the way what is her name?
I hope you husband is doing ok too.

Angie,
Your kitty has been in my thoughts...and please, don't ever feel silly about taking your kitty to the vet because you're not comfortable with what is going on. It's better to be safe than sorry and aggressive treatment upfront can prevent problems in the long run.. your mind will at least be at peace knowing you went for help/treatment.
I hope all goes well with your furbaby and your husband. Please update when you can.

Angie,
Don't feel silly for taking your kitty back to the vets...once I took Chessa to the regular vets during the day, and the ER vets at night!!! I felt like I was being paranoid silly, but you can't ever be too cautious when it comes to their health!!!
I hope both your kitty and your husband are feeling better soon! Please keep us updated...

Re: I think my cat is very sick....
Hello all!! I just picked up Sparkle Kitty (that's her name, by the way) from the vet. She is a totally different creature than she was yesterday. She sat in my husbands lap coming home but right as we got in the car she jumped over into my lab and started hitting me with her face. It was so nice to have her do that to me again!! She's walking around meowing but I much prefer the meowing over the lethargy!!!
They told me that she would probably hide for a day or two, but so far she's whereever I am. I fed her some food when we got home and she dove into it like she was starving. She will get Clavamox for 10 days and Cyproheptadine for 5 more days. Her front leg is a little shaved looking where her iv was, I suppose.
Thanks to you all for the encouragement. I needed to hear that I was doing the right thing for her. I've never ever been a cat person....until we got her and I cannot imagine life without our Sparkle Kitty!!!!!
Thanks,
Angie
