Sister moving to Virginia, may need foster care for her dog
Okay, here's the story. My twin sister is moving from Arizona to Virginia right before Christmas. She has 3 ferrets, a menagerie of fish (which she's found a home for), and a Jack Russel Terror named Simmie. Now, Simmie is a high strung dog (like many terriors are). He'll be visiting my house as a stopping point. This is a dog that has never been in temperatures lower than 70 degrees (F) and not seen snow. Well, I live in southern Illinois. It will be COLD and there could possibly be snow. That's not my problem. My problem is that her dog doesn't like all other dogs. It depends on the other dog. My dog is the exact same way. It just depends. AND, her dog doesn't really like cats, and I have 2 of them. If all goes well, I will be keeping Simmie until May because that's when she'll be back from Virginia to be in a wedding and by then, her and her hubby should have a place of their own. When they first get to Virginia, they'll be living with his parents while my sister finishes student teaching. I have told her the longest I will have her animals is until May. BUT, she also knows that if by the time she's ready to leave here, if my dog and her dog and my cats aren't getting along, she has to take Simmie with her (the ferrets I can keep separated). Anyhow, so here's my question. I need a list of possible temporary foster homes/rescues for Simmie if her in-laws don't let her keep him at their house. She would pay for the care of Simmie and visit often. But, are there places out there like this? It would definately be very temporary . Just until they got a place of their own....

I'm not sure if there's anything out there like that. She may have to pay to have him boarded somewhere if they don't get along with your crew. I know that people have to do this sometime, so you may want to check into what are the best/most reputable boarding kennels in the area for her. I hope they do get along, though.
