Expensive flea control totally useless?
Expensive flea control totally useless?
Help! I spent $25 just to put a one month flea control on my tiny dog and cat! It's been a week and they are still scratching like heck! It's ridiculous. Any suggestions? I used Advantage - that worked like not at all, now using frontline [/b]
I've always used Frontline...
and my dog has never had a flea or a tick- I live in SE Florida and I use it year round.. if your pets already had a flea problem when you applied it, you may have to get rid of the fleas first, then use the Frontline as a preventative measure. I've been very happy with it

Are you sure they're itching because of fleas? ...msg
I'm just wondering if they have allergies to anything. Our pup has pollen allergies, and they're acting up right now.
Another thing..
Another thing often overlooked by owners is that you must treat the environment too. Even if you're using Frontline or Advantage, you'll still want to treat the environment to keep it under control. Vacuum often, if your pets sleep in your bed, wash your bedding frequently, vacuum areas where the pets sleep, etc.
If you're having a serious problem, talk to your vet, he may suggest another approach.

I agree with the others..
Sounds to me like they may have an allergy problem. Right now Ginger and Prince are on allergy medicine. Unfortunately, I didn't start early enough and Ginger has already chewed some fur off of her side. THis is an annual spring event. Just been to the vets with them and they are flea free. I use Frontline Plus...
