Kitties and their sleeping habits!

My two girls have their very own soft condo bed, a cat tree, and a bed.

Honeybun (5yrs old) slept in her condo when we first got it for her. She also has a leopard soft circular bed, which she does use at night (goes to bed like us).

But, during the evening and day she sleeps on a chair, behind the sofa, behind a chair, and in the middle of living room!!

I wondered if anyone else's kitties are masters of hiding and sleeping everywhere but in their own beds. I wonder if there is a chance I could entice her to sleep in her condo or bed and stay off my dining room chairs. I guess that is silly huh!!

Hi Mona,

From my personal experience, cats will sleep wherever they deem comfortable. Like you, I have a few cat beds and other nooks set up for them to have a comfy nap and or sleep. They may start out in the bed but never stay there through the night or go back to it. My 3 year old Keeks will cuddle under the blanket, pillow, corners of the couch - wherever is comfy and nest-like. My 2 year old Molly will drop in the middle of the floor and call it a night.

We have found that there best sleeping place and pillow is me! I'll wake at 3AM to find one in my lap and one on my chest (thankfully it is 7 pound Molly on my chest and not 10 pound Keeks!)

And then there is Keeks' brother Bella who resides with my sister. He sleeps in a cardboard box. She's purchased cat beds, baskets, etc. but he took to this one particular box and won't let go. As he got bigger, he's close to 12 pounds, he started busting out of it. She had it in the hallway for recycable garbage and he was literally screaming bloody murder for it back. It's bound with silver duct tape now.

We have uncovered cats sleeping in the following places:
The top of the kitchen cabinets.
The top of the dryer.
In All The cuboards.
On the gym shoes.
In boxes far too small for them.
On my head.
In the tub.
Behind the toilet.
On the bathroom counters.
Under/On the dining room table.
In the CD rack!!
In the socks basket.
In their baskets.
Under the comforter of a perfectly made bed...
In the curtains...
Under the pillows...
Randomly piled on top of each other...
And last and also least in their designated baskets...

I did one morning however wake up to find ALL three/3 of them crammed butt to butt into one/1 basket!!

Mine like to sleep on me. Many a times I've woken to them fighting over who sleeps where on me. If I'm not available or should I kick them both off, Razzeratz likes to sleep on one of the throw rugs in his room. Sals will usually find a spot near me or someplace I usually sit. Wonder what they do when I'm not home, LOL!
