NEED HELP

Post by lefty921 »

My kitty just had a stool movement on the floor right on front of me. All of it was normal except for the end which had blood in it. Is this something I need to take to emergency? Thank you

How old is your kitty, and does he/she already have a known health condition? If not, this is probably kitty's way of getting your attention to another matter, such as stress, unclean litterbox, or something else.

If straining in the box, constipated or has diarrhea, call your vet and make an appointment right away. Watch his/her appetite and drinking habit and attitude closely in next 24 hours for any signs of a problem. Watch the litterbox and try to determine kitty is indeed having normal bowel movements and that they are not extremely hard or diarrhea.

When in doubt, call your vet...

Was it a lot of blood? Does you kitty seem to be behaving differently? Did he/she seem to be in pain, or strain to have the bowel movement? An ER visit would depend on that. If it was just a touch of blood and your kitty seems to otherwise be normal it can probably wait until tomorrow...but alot of blood or any change in kitties normal energy level or behavior, or if she seems to be in pain I would have my cat to the vet ASAP. Of course the fact that your kitty went right in front of you tells me your kitty is trying to tell you something.
