cat with ADD, so much engery, and a biter - help

Post by nurse2003 »

Well that's the vet's diagnosis, her sol'n, another cat
We have a male cat, 1 1/2yrs old who's extremely engertic and also bites ( he is getting better but still does it) we've tried lots, water bottle, new toys, play time, but the vet says our best sol'n is another cat. my fiance is scared about this, since this one is sooo energetic, is 2 gonna tear the house down? any advice?
on a side note, anyone use the cat window seats, and what is their experience with them?
thanks

don't klnow anything about ADD in cats but most of the tempermant of cats and puppies is determined by their position in the peck order...the alpha cat can be overly aggressive or the cat at the bottom of the list can either be overly aggressive when not with the other kittens and then submissive when back with litter mates...i think it is just a matter or time and assimilation into the house hold....try a little more time and tender loving care before you get another cat...

we've had him since June of 2002, we were told that he was 8 weeks old, and he was the last of his litter to go, turns out he was only about 5 weeks old, we've given him tons of TLC, play with him everyday, he has lots of toys etc....and we know time will calm him down eventually but it could take another yr or two...

well they are just like kids who want to express themselves...they finally become acceptable, at least my kids did by the time they were in their thirties....
