Advantage on kitten?

Post by Misty »

I took my new cat, Boo, to the vet last week for her first checkup. The vet estimated that she was between 6-7 weeks old. He said to wait a week before I put the advantage on her for fleas. I did it this morning and want to be sure I did it correctly. He gave me no instructions so I had to call and find out. They told me to put the entire tube on the back of the head between the ears? I was never told of any side effects that could also occur...any ideas?? Thanks!

WHen applying the Advantage you should pull back the hair between the ears and shoulder blades (somewhere between where they cannot lick it off). Your kitty should be at least 8 weeks old before application.

The only side affect is that if ingested the cats foam it out of their mouth, which is true about anything they do not want in their mouths.

I have used for 5 years without any problems, and it is very effective.

Watch for signs of lethargy, not eating, drooling or vomiting. These are just precautions, and I have never seen any of these side affects.
