dog? This comes from a conversation I had with a co-worker today. She was telling me all about her new Jack Russell puppy, and mentioned how much she loves them. I mentioned that hound dogs were my dogs of choice, and I wasn't sure why. I mentioned that I'd grown up with hound dogs, but also that I liked their goofiness, lovingness, and independent minds. She said that I was just like that - goofy, independent, and got along with everyone. I took that as a compliment!

So do you think you and your dog are alike? Of course, I don't have blue eyes, I'm not speckled, and I don't think I have long ears, nor do I ever want to head out in the morning to hunt rabbits

OK, I guess I'll base this on the common traits among all the shelties

How I'm like them:
1. - I prefer my hair long and flowing, although at my age, this isn't practical nor is it pretty, so it is medium length for ease of care. Having a 'wash and wear' coat is is good thing.
2 - I like to have all my flock where I can see them or at least know where they are (a basic herding instinct)
3 - I am not afraid to bark at an offender or intruder - it's not pretty, and I'm not proud of it, but it's true.
4 - I prefer to be in charge of my surroundings and I dislike change.
5 - I am extremely loyal. It takes a lot to send me packing.

How I'm not like them:
1 - I am not afraid to be alone. It's OK if the flock isn't around. I trust them to take care of themselves.
2. - I do not crave acceptance from my flock.

Ok - I think I'm a sheltie - someone please scritch me behing the ears and I'll love you forever.

Well, I don't have jowls like Scribs, and I don't jump around like a maniac like Scribs, but she does like to eat (like me) and she has a wicked sense of humor and likes to tease (like me). So I'd say 50:50
