I sure have missed you all!!! Long post, NCR.

Post by Susan and the girls »

Things have been SO busy for me that I haven't had the time to keep up with the board. I wanted to let you know that I AM still out here, and I do check in from time to time, but I haven't had as much free time as I did before school started back. (Oh, the life of a teacher..... folks just don't know the extra time it takes past the time the bell rings.....)

Anyway, I've got some huge news.....

I've been frequenting another website a lot lately, searching for information to help me over the next few months...... I need all the advice I can get about this particular matter......

See, I'm pretty confident in my abilities to take care of my cats.....

But I've now got to learn how to take care of a baby.

Yes, my husband and I are almost 14 weeks pregnant. (Well, I'm actually the one pregnant, but he's having to live with me & my nausea, lack of appetite, and crazy moods, so I have to give him some of the credit.... LOL)

The baby is a boy - we found out at our 12 week ultrasound. I know that sounds early, but I have the best doctor on the face of the earth, and he tells early. His name will be Robert Alexander, and we'll call him Alex.

He's due on April 6, which is our anniversary! He'll probably come early, though, because he'll have to be a planned birth. As you've all come to know things are never uncomplicated for me. LOL As the result of another miscarriage this summer, my wonderful doctor set about to find out why I can't carry a pregnancy. The bloodwork he ordered discovered the issue, which is a rare blood clotting disorder (in me) that makes it impossible to carry a pregnancy. (Like I said, things are never uncomplicated in my life.....)

I take daily shots of a low-dose heparin and aspirin to prevent a miscarriage, and although it's not fun, it's worth it!

I've had 5 ultrasounds so far, and each time, the baby is very active, kicking, and according to the doctor, "totally perfect."

I have another ultrasound next Friday (10/10), so I'll keep you posted - if you want me to! (Tell me to shut up if I go on and on too much.... can't help it! This is too exciting for us!)

In the meantime, we're going to Disney! LOL

Seriously - we're leaving Sunday and coming back Wednesday for a little vacation down in Orlando. We never got to take one this summer, what with moving, painting, working on the house & pool, etc. Now we finally will!

I hope everyone is doing well..... now I'm going to look over the last few weeks' posts to catch up!

Susan!! Congratulations!! How exciting for you and Rob (it is Rob isn't it??) I'm so happy for you both, what joy you will have in your house :D

Have fun at Disney! The weather has been fairly nice down this way for the last day or two, not always sunny but at least it hasn't been sweltering! Hope it stays that way for you!

Welcome back...I think of you often
