Puppy teeth

Post by oconnorjoy »

Bamm Bamm has one baby tooth on the bottom that isn't falling out. His adult tooth is growing in beside it. The rest of his baby teeth fell out without a problem. This one doesn't even feel loose.
He is six months old on Friday. Should I bring him in to our vet or am I just being a neurotic Mom :?

Don't know, Joy, am sure someone knowledgeable will ans you. But you reminded me- when I was a kid we had a cocker spaniel named Peaches. When her baby tooth fell out in front of me I put it in a little box and had it for years. All I know is that I want to see more Bamm Bamm pictures

if he hasn't been neutered then have it removed at that time....you can gently wiggle it like you would with a kid untill it loosens up[ then it will probably come out....i think your next routine visit, ask your vet and he can wiggle it with insturments and possible pullit without anesthesia or sedation...but best to get it ou.

Chablis had a baby tooth that never fell out and it was one of those front (dagger) kind. The vet pulled it because he said it could cause problems with the rest of her teeth. That's many years ago, though.
