Help...Honey has me worried..

Hi-- My 5 year-old lab mix Maggie had the same symptoms. She would wake up panting heavily, or just pant when resting, as Honey does. I was so worried she had heart failure or something. Our vet couldn't find anything with her bloodwork or chest x-rays, so she referred us to a veterinary internal medicine specialist, who did all the heart tests (EKG, etc.) and respiratory tests, as well as additional bloodwork. The diagnosis? Maggie was perfectly healthy, nothing showed up. The specialist said some dogs just do this. Maggie has a bit of an anxious personality, so that may contribute to her behavior. Now, I can't say it's the same for Honey, but don't worry too much about heart problems until you have a reason to. Good luck, let us know what the vet says!

Yes, Kristin...could be, as she can be hyper...and it is allergy season. Hope that's all it is. Glad your pup is ok!
