Scooter and urinating..

Re: Scooter and urinating..
Ok, Nature's Miracle has been applied, and it said that the cat should lick up some of the substance off the surface. About how much should Scooter lick up? He didn't lick any off the floor, so I pressed his nose a little bit into it so he'd have to lick it off somehow. Is that correct so far?
Gene, Scooter should not lick/swallow any of this product. Nature's Miracle contains isopropyl alcohol which should not be ingested by cats (or humans). This substance is toxic. I don't see this anywhere on the container I have and I'm not sure of the purpose it would serve.
Please carefully reread the label... The container of Nature's Miracle says "While treated areas dry, keep cat away. If cat must remain in the area, place punched aluminum foil over treated spots" .
Let us know if you have other questions.

I'm not trying to get any of you mad or irritated, so this will be the last post you see from me.
The product I'm using is NOT Stain & Odor Remover. This is Nature's Miracle: Best Behavior, which DOES say to have the pet taste it. http://www.petco.com/product_info.asp?w ... pt_id=4087[%CookieTrailInfo%
I'm sorry for everything.

Gene, my apologies, I removed the Admin note....I didn't mean to sound harsh...
You were referring to an entirely different product. The product we were advising is Nature's Miracle, the actual enzymatic cleaner, you didn't specify this other product.
Having said that and after reviewing the site's info, I would not use this product for cats, it is designed as a training aid, and I would assume it would be more effective for dogs rather than cats. In any event, any product that carries a warning against ingestions, skin contact or eye contact, and in the same sentence says it's ok to force a pet's nose and tongue onto it, doesn't deserve a second glance as far as I'm concerned. Also, "proprietary ingredients" are those that the company is not required to list as long as the EPA (or FDA) has approved them for use or safety in animals. I couldn't find such an ingredient list for this product in particular, and that in itself is concerning.
Again, please, its been 18 days since your original post, and you've made no mention of getting him examined for a recheck on a urinalysis, this is too important to overlook. Call your vet and make that appointment today.

Re: Scooter and urinating..
Hi Gene,
Please don't go! I don't think Lisa or anyone is mad or irritated with you. We really are here to try to help as best we can! Honestly, that's what we're here for, not to judge you and especially not to get mad or irritated with you. Our primary concern is the health of everybody's pets, that's all.
I guess I am wondering why you're using the Nature's Miracle: Best Behavior, though. It says on the link that it's to deter behavior like "chewing, scratching, biting, licking, and going into restricted areas" - I don't think it was meant for preventing them from peeing in inappropriate places. (I guess the "going into restricted areas" could be interpreted to mean urinating, but I don't think that's what it means.) I think it just tastes bad so they won't want to bite or chew on whatever you apply it to.
Is there any way you could return this product and get the Odor Remover instead? That was what was meant by the Nature's Miracle earlier, I'm sorry if I or others were unclear.
Please keep us posted on how your kitty is doing; I hope everything works out okay.

Re: Scooter and urinating..
Gene,
I hope you will decide to stay with us. I did not mean to offend you and if I did, I apologize. I thought you were referring to the Stain and Odor product (which goes along with the advise others were giving). It looks like there was a misunderstanding/miscommunication.
I was only trying to help you and Scooter.. FYI--I am not mad or irritated with you. Let us know how everything is going..okay??
Take care,
Lisa
