Introduction

Post by melissaranks »

I posted a similar thread on the kennel, but I'll post it here too. :)

My name is Melissa. I'm owned by 2 cats and one dog. The 2 cats are D'Artagnan (pronounced Dar-tan-yan) and Booker. D'Artagnan is named for the bravest of the Musketeers but is a HUGE fraidy cat. His current favorite past time is to pull out his hair. We are working on THAT situation daily. He's also a big snuggle bug and follows me around in the hopes that I will give him a treat or pick him up and carry him. He just turned 1 year old. Booker is about 5 years old. I rescued her 2 years ago from a life on the streets. I used to live in a secluded older neighborhood in the woods. People were ALWAYS dumping their pets back there and I would find them and clean them up (baths and medical care) and then I would get them into rescue. Booker was thrown out of a moving car 2 weeks before I got her. She had on a too small flea collar. The neighborhood kids were throwing her at the back end of moving cars. :( But, she so desired human contact that she would sit on those same kid's porches just waiting for them to come out. So, I took her. I just couldn't give her up. She's also really attached to my husband and just sits with him for hours and hours.

That's Booker on the left and D'Artagnan on the right.

I'm also owned by a 2 year old Cocker. She's a whirlwind of activity and she just LOVES everybody!

Oh, too cute! Your kitties look so good together on the chairs. :) Great story about Booker, too, I'm glad to hear she's under your care now!

I two kitties - Kobi (almost 1 year) and Pele (5 mos). Both were rescue cats, with completely opposite personalities, and they're both huge blessings. :D

Your furbabies are adorable!!! I have two kitties, Chauncey and Chessa, both who just turned a year old. Your tuxedo kitty looks just like my Chessa, only not nearly as fat!!! :rprofile:
