picture time again.....
The temps are finally dropping. For the summer most of the pics would have looked like this. The dogs were more active outside only in the VERY early morning and VERY late at night.
During the heat of the day this is how active they were outside.
The other alternaive for action shots would have been inside pictures like this!
Yesterday they went outsde and at first sat on teh patio as usual. (In fact that is when I snapped the patio pic above.) Then it dawned on them that it wasn't HOT! And they became more active.
Can you find all the dogs in this picture in the dappled light?
Here are Ivory and Bernie examing the yard for critter smells!
As small as she is, Kaiser plays with the Big Boys (Girls) like Apache here.
Even little Coco was outside. In this pick Coco looks more like Toto after traveling in the Tornado!
Poor Little Pea Pod was active enough to dig a BIG hole and got scolded when caught!
In other news, Sarge is back at the kennel. He got out of his new owner's yard and the owner hasn't come to get him. He decided he doesn't have the time for a dog!
On a more positive note we got a call for two rottwielers on old HWY 51 between Rudock and Manchac. It turned out there were four. Here they are!
The owner was waiting for us when we got to the shelter. His dogs were stolen the night before and dumped in the swamps about 15 miles from their home.
This mangy little fellow was just dumped. He is sick and is slated to go to the bridge today.

Is Sarge the one who was scheduled for euthanasia? I would love to have him, I'm trying to decide if my husband would really divorce me. He said he would when I only had 2 dogs and now we have 3.

What's the story on those Rottweilers??? They look extremely well-cared for, shiny coats, happy & healthy.

No Sarge is not up for euthanasia. He is UTD on his shots and is neutered, but he is HW positive. He is is a big happy, lovable hunk of dog.Amandasmom wrote:Is Sarge the one who was scheduled for euthanasia? I would love to have him, I'm trying to decide if my husband would really divorce me. I fully suggest dumping the husband and getting the dog. ....

I told the story in the post. They were stolen from their kennel and dumped 15 miles from their home. The owner was waiting at the Shelter when we drove up, worried about his babies. They are safely home, but when the vet examined them after the owner picked them up, they found two had been beaten with a blunt object, like a baseball bat.ShelbysMom wrote:What's the story on those Rottweilers??? Actually dinner is quite orderly. I feed them in a specific order, each has its own dinning area and dish.Nancy (Spuddie' s Mum) wrote:Oh my, look at that happy bunch! You have your hands full, that's for sure. I bet when you call "dinner" it's a stampeed!! LOL

Sorry, I missed that part when reading the post. Glad to hear that the dogs are safely home with their owner. What an awful experience for those sweet and gentle dogs....I cringe when I read things like this. You would never know from the photo what an ordeal they had gone through.TheSkeptic wrote: I told the story in the post. They were stolen from their kennel and dumped 15 miles from their home. I'm so glad the Rottweilers are back home! What a horrid experience for the owner/s to go through! That poor little mangy dog; I'm saying a prayer for him at the Bridge. Skeptic, all of your dogs look so happy and wonderful, as always. I'm glad they're enjoying the weather!

aw.... that fluffy sort of curly looking poochie is sew kewt... mythie made friends with a doggie just like that while she was at the vet... its weird how she doesn't mind small dogs... but with the bigger dogs... if you take her up to one and its behind some bars she'll invariably bop it on the nose... cats.... *sigh
