round object is a speaker magnet from my old days as a ham operator..used to take the unused speakers apart and save the magnets...got them all over the place.....

i used them as a kid myself, people knew to keep speakers away from me

i found that i could magnetically charge metallic objects real quick with those large magnets....college explained it better of course, i thought it was size back then.
