1year kitten bites telephone/electrical cords.Help!

Post by BBelle »

Please help me find a way to stop my 1 yr old kitten from biting my telephone and electrical cords. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Do you know of any reason he might be doing this? Thanks

You might try something bitter tasting - wiping the cords end to end with bitter apple or tabasco sauce. When Ruby was a very young kitten, she went after a cord once and we were very careful after that to unplug cords or make them inaccessable to her - luckily she lost interest and it didn't become a problem. Even though you try making the coerds offensive to taste, it still might be a good idea to unplug any cord not being used at the moment. Another thing you might try is running cords through heavy plastic tubing - the kind some people ( not me cause I'm a slob) organize their computer cords with.

telephone cords are not a big problem, ie very little jolt but electric cords and spoil a day...have had many pups and kittens severly burned...if fowl tastes don't work then either find another place for the cords or get shelding at Radio Shack
