urine smell on carpet
urine smell on carpet
i'm having a little problem with my wonderful kitty milo...we have recently moved into a new apartment with a new carpet in the bedroom. for some reason milo decided to urinate on this new rug. i have tried to use carpet cleaners (foam wash, deoderizer, etc.), however he must still be picking up on the odor because he repeatedly goes back to the same spot and leaves mommy little presents any suggestions on how to clean the carpet in a way that wont cause milo to be a repeat offender? thanks.
Re: urine smell on carpet
Hi,
First of all, you need to take your kitty to the vet to rule out a physical problem (urinary tract infection, urinary crystals). Cats very often exhibit inappropriate urination when they are sick..they are telling you that something is wrong, and urinary issues in cats can be very dangerous to them. The stress of the move could have brought such an issue to the forefront. It is also possible that your cat is picking up on smells in the floor from previous animals, even with a new carpet. There are enzyme cleaners such as "Nature's Miracle" and "Simple Solution" that are great for getting rid of the smell of pet urine. You can find them at pet stores. Good luck, and let us know what the vet says. kk
