Well
Why aren't you out there throwing the ball? Can't you see he is waiting?

That's a great pic...she looks so happy!...msg
Mr. Blue doesn't like to play ball; if we throw one, he'll go sniff at it and roll it with his paw, but certainly would never dream of fetching it and bringing it back

We have a few like Mr. Blue then we have
Pirssy who used to live for catching the ball, but now is not interested.
Prince who is interested, but a total klutz who rarely catches the ball.

Mary, my hounds just stand there and stare at it!
Guess it is not a houndie thing, unless you are a puppy. I end up doing the retrieving...to get it out of the way of the lawnmower. I threw out all the tennis balls I got from a local high school boy who was just going to trash them! By the way, for those who DO have dogs who chase balls, that is a great way to get all the balls you can dream of-they won't use them if they don't bounce right!
yeah, guys...
Honey is not so good on the fetching thing either...she likes to get the ball, but then won't give it to you. BUT if you're not looking she'll put it down near you and wait for another throw...she is goofy (like mr.b)
here she is
has brought the ball back cause I pretended i wasn't interested...

Let's hear it for our goofy pals! We'll need to include...m
...more than our dogs in that list, won't we I'm thinking Kevin and definitely Davet belong there! Great pic of your goofy one, by the way! Mr. Blue doesn't like balls, but will get into a rousing chase/fight for his squeaky toys. He likes to grab one and run away, and have us chase him. His tail goes a mile a minute while doing this, and he tends to stop only when we get too tired out to continue.

Chasing balls.........
Honey is a real cutie!!
Shelby doesn't chase balls. She'll give me a condescending look if I even suggest she retrieve one for me. Sometimes Dobermans can think they're royalty or something.
She does have a big wooly sock inside of a sock with the end tied that she goes nuts for. If I even kick it out of the way of the vacuum, she thinks it's playtime. She throws that around and around and shakes it wildly. Then she'll use it as a chinrest while she sleeps.
