hearing an old dog bark
on a warm summer night
I found your favorite ball
where you last dropped it
near the grass where I held you
when you could no longer stand
alone with you at midnight
watching a sturgeon moon
I search the night sky now
with salt burning vision
trying to see you so far away
I pray tonight for heaven

jdf, this is beautiful! I've got a related favor to ask of
...you. Your writings about Roxy are so beautiful and so moving! I was wondering if you would mind putting them together for us, and maybe posting all of them here. It's a lot to ask, but I think they could be a source of tears, memory and comfort for a lot of us.

It's something to think about doing...I've written quite a large number of poems about and for Roxy so it would take some time. I'll give it some serious thought. Thanks, Mary.Mary Plummer wrote:...you. Your writings about Roxy are so beautiful and so moving! I was wondering if you would mind putting them together for us, and maybe posting all of them here. Hey, jdf. Do you always have to make me cry?
