New storm door and the hounds

Post by Marty »

I've been in hysterics watching my hounds. DH put in a full length glass storm door last weekend, and I have been testing it out this week. The hounds will go up to it, think maybe they can go roam the neighborhood smelling good things...but then they turn around and look at me to see if I am watching. The nose bumps up against the glass at the bottom, and they look so disapointed at the barrier. ROTFL!

Wish I had the same reaction with my cats. When the back door storm door (full-view) was put in, they were only interested in the cats outside when I fed them. When I come back in, they could care less. I mean, it's not like they don't have a picturesque view or anything

When our family dog was a puppy, we had a similar experience. He was born in the late winter/early spring, so by the time we had adopted him, we had all screen doors up. And my family is very much the type to leave all the windows and doors open for sunlight and air flow. So when it came time to put the storm windows up for winter, poor Tyler had no idea what to do. Within an hour of the door being up, he spotted a squirrel outside, made a MAD rush for it from across the living room, and barrelled full-steam-ahead into the storm door. Poor guy bounced off and looked SO confused! He wasn't injured, other than his pride, so we got a good laugh out of it.

my cats hate it when they hear the duct tape this time of year!!...Our old house is NOT sealed well so I put plastic up on the insides of all the windows, using duct tape to hold it on...they will sit and mournfully watch me because it blurs their view of the outside world...

On the flipside...in the spring, when they hear that first rip of duct tape being taken off...they are running to be the first one to sit on the windowsill!!
