A Cat's Meow

Post by Raine Baelia »

Me and my boyfriend have recently decided to keep our cat, Gremlin, in our room when we go to sleep at night. She has water, food, and a clean litter box, but she meows, and doesn't stop. We try to hold her or pet her. And she purrs and loves it, but soon she runs off and meows again. Before she hardly ever meow. Now she does it all the time. It gets to the point where we let her back upstairs. But at night, she is standing by the basement and meows until we go downstairs. Can anyone tell me why is she doing this?

Can you tell us a little more about her? How old is she? Is she spayed? Is she healthy and/or when was her last vet exam? Do you have other pets?

I guess the obvious question is, is there something in the basement that she wants? Wants to investigate? Has special toys or something there she wants? Is there a door to the basement that you keep closed or is she allowed direct access to both downstairs and upstairs?
