A Herd Of Daschshunds?! (7 pictures)
Well, as you know, we have Sammie and Mom has Sophia...but...about a month ago, she also adopted Slinky/Snoozy...
I had gotten an e-mail from the family we got Sammie from asking if we knew of anyone who wanted yet another...his sister was visiting from Missouri and had hers with them, but was in process of looking for a good home for him because with kids getting older and involved in sports, they had no time for him...
Of course, we said we would find him a home, either with Mom, or another couple who has a mini-daschshund if Sophia and this new one did not get along...
DH and I went to the house...the man took us down the stairs to the basement...out into the sweltering, dark garage, and to a corner where he lifted a comforter off of a pet carrier!!...He opened the door and out slinked this little skeletal very miniature daschshund...
The guy put him outside to go potty and I almost said how can he go when he has nothing in him to get rid of?!...But...I bit my tongue...
His fur was dull and shedding all over...we could see his backbone and ribs and hips...and we decided he was NOT going back into what they referred to as a "kennel"...
He rode home shaking on the seat beside me...we took him to Mom's and he and Sophia got along fine...but Mom did not like the name Slinky, so renamed him Snoozy...
He is beginning to put on weight, and his back is not as hunched as it was...but he still has a ways to go...
anyways...I have them both down here today dog sitting, and I took the first pictures of the 3 of them together What fun taking them all for a walk on retractable leashes because we do not have a fenced yard...hahaha
Oh and BTW...Snoozy will be 3 in January and Sophia 3 in June...Sammie just turned 5 this month...
there are about seven pictures, but I tried to make them small enough to load easy and large enough to see!

Re: A Herd Of Daschshunds?! (7 pictures)
thanks....sounds like you are having a rough day E's...{{{hugggs}}}
When Mom got Snoozy, he was dull and shedding like mad and just very skeletal...and his tail was between his legs because the previous owner (husband half) said, "He keeps his tail between his legs all the time because I taught him early on who was boss"...I wantd to kick that guy's tail between his legs!!
Now he is still skittish, but his tail wags alot more...he actually was wagging the day we brought him home and he jumped into Mom's lap!

Good to know the Doxies are bonding... they are such swell little dogs. Yeah, it would be nice to give former owner of the new one a couple pieces of one's mind - but he probably wouldn't get it anyway! *sigh*
