A tornado hit LaPlace last night...

Post by TheSkeptic »

Surprised it wasn't in the news. Destroyed 3 houses and missed the shelter by mere feet. We have trees down, bushes uprooted, a damaged fence and a big mess. For some strange reason it didn't hit the Cat trailer (Imagine a tornado missing a Trailer!) or the kennel. Dogs and cats were real spooked this morning. ....

I'm so glad you, your crew, and all the shelter animals...

...are OK! How was it while it was all going on? Were your dogs all spooked, too?

Luckily it was a small one and we live about 2 miles from the shelter, as the crow flies (3+ mile drive)

Heard the storm, but not the tornado... Linda lives only 2 blocks away and heard it!

say it sounds like a freight train which is exactly what it did..one classmate ran in and grabbed his baby just before the chimney fell onto the crib...one guy and his wife lived in a trailor but were in class at the time...rolled the trailor over three times and as Libby said...her underware was all over Auburn...split one of the profs brick house right dwon the middle...the crack started at about one inch at the bottome to about two feet at the topjk..we had no idea it was coming,,,just one big train roar through the campus.....you kinda don't forget that sound and the darkness of the sky
