Okay...I think I am going to check this out...I have bought Melaleuca Products for myself and alot fo cleaning for many years, and they have this new cleaning product out...
Sol-U-Guard Botanical

It lists that it is EPA approved for Zoos and Kennels...as well as many other places...

I already use 409, which I have never cared for but it does get rid of germs...but how much worse is that than this?

Sorry, Tambrey, but it's claim that it is "EPA-approved", means virtually nothing to the consumer, especially toward safety for those with pets. The EPA oftentimes, virtually "approves" any new or registered or submitted product and often does not require substantial testing to form a reasonable conclusion of it's safety, especially around pets. Not that you particularly, are going to use this AROUND your pets, but any cleaning product which boasts it's "botanical" properties needs to be used carefully in homes with pets. I suppose (I hope) their labeling specifies it's use is not to be used around pets, but if it doesn't, buyer beware.

Just exercise caution and good sense when choosing products with such claims.

Yes, but most common popular products use precautionary labels, and you generally are aware of what the ingredients are and how those ingredients may affect your pets. I just wanted to point out that just because the company claims it is "EPA-approved", and promotes "botanicals", does not mean it is safe around your pets, nor does it mean it does a better job of cleaning than any other popular, competitive product (marketing gimmicks).

Bottom line, just use caution with any "botanical" products around pets. If you choose to use this product, be sure to rinse any residue.

I finally got some of this to try...it states on the bottle , if disinfecting, to spray it on and leave it on the surface for ten minutes, then if in an area where food is fixed, or babies will chew, etc...to wipe it down/rinse with potable water, so I did this on the kitchen counters after packaging up some meat I had gotten...

I have a terrible time keeping the cats off of the counters in the kitchen, and I do have a SCCCAT sprayer there...but I noticed this morning that there was two pawprints where someone walked across the sink and got wet feet, then proceeded to wander towards the main part of the counter, but they abruptly disappeared and I have not seen a cat on the counter at all today...

I guess they do not like the lingering residual smell of it...it does smell different...like thyme...which it the main ingredient...thymol...

It does list all safety precautions and ingredients on the bottle, as any other cleaner...
