How many here are Acme Refugees?
This should be interesting.
Well, for maybe 1 1/2 yrs
There were times when I didn't want to leave to make dinner, and times when I did't want to go to bed....just HAD to see the outcome. The trolls are something I don't miss at all...there were some good discussions, though. Enlightening to me at the time...

I left when things got ugly....
It was really good for a while, and I "met" a lot of you great pet people there, but when it went bad, it went REALLY bad. The group of people here, on this board, are wonderful!

Me.........I was on it for years.
When the FDA pulled PPA off the market, that's what led me to Acme. It was a few years ago. Actually I think it was davet that answered my questions that day. In our house, we referred to Acme as The Doggie Board.
There was nothing quite like Acme's Doberman Board.......it was like the inmates were running the asylum. (Oh, but I mean that affectionately.)

I'm one of the slightly scarred refugees! I didn't post much near the end - it got too brutal. Mainly just lurked and aswered something if it was specifically addressed to me or related to lab testing or infectious diseases. I tried to stay out of the fray, but I have to admit it was often difficult to stand back and read some of the garbage being put forward as fact without saying anything.
I think I was on it about 4 years - don't remember for sure - found it while I was researching canine deafness after we discovered Allie was deaf. I think that would have been somewhere around November of '98 - we got her in October of that year - can't believe she'll already be 5 this August.

No Scars, but
I got on (If memory serves) in July 97. .... I left as a regular just after the first time it was rumoured to go down. I still stopped in to stir up some people in the Acme Health Board. (Sometimes under the instigation of a person on this board who will remain nameless.) ....
Surprised there's only 4 so far...
I guess I was one of the youngsters, at least time spent on acme-wise. Of course I was there to the bitter end, fighting off the heathens and infidels!
From summer of '98....
shortly after I came online... mostly GSD board, which was great except I kept putting my foot in my mouth, then would stay away for awhile. I liked the health board until the coven took over. Got flamed a few times on Dog... I dunno... guess I gave as good as I got... When the first threat of ACME folding came, I went with a private GSD board so the final breakup didn't hurt as much. I only go to this board now - check Patty's once in awhile, but there doesn't seem to be much going on there anymore... and what does is mostly pitbull and Staffordshire oriented... My dad loved pits and bull terriers so I don't have any problem with such breeds, but the fanciers do seem to get their teeth into a discussion board (so to speak LOL) and hang on and on and on....
