Just for a fun topic.....slimy pet bowls
Just for a fun topic.....slimy pet bowls
Winnie is my "starving" dog.....she licks her bowl clean, around the edges, the floor, and the kitchen cabinets. Then she goes over to the other 2 dog bowls and does the same thing. Not a crumb goes unnoticed! Then I pick up the bowls with wet hands, and whoops!
The bowls get washed regularly.....but it only takes 1 meal!!!!

Gizmo our "fat boy" does that. In fact after I feed them he roams around to all the bowls to see if anyone has left anything. It got so bad there for a while that I had to start feeding him out on the screened porch because he would eat everyone elses food before they could finish and with his past weight problems that is a no-no.
Cricket on the other hand roams around to all the bowls and digs at them trying to cover them up. If ANYTHING happens to be lying on the floor nearby she pulls it to the bowl and puts it on top.
I sometimes think I was more cat dishes than human dishes in this house

If we left the food bowls down after the dogs finished eating they would have the shine licked off of them.
more cat dishes than human dishes...LOL...I know that feeling...I was just thinking as I was feeding this morning...hhmmm...ten cats, they do not all eat at the same time as some do not play well with some of the others...I have four single size dishes and three double size dishes...enough to feed all ten at once...
I have them lined up along the floor in front of my pantry cabinets...
In fact, here is a picture I took when I (HORRORS) rn out of food and they had to wait until I returned from the store!...and of course, they were in all such a hurry to run to the dishes they knocked half the food out all over the floor!!!
From near the water cooler (top to bottom) are Skittles, Sarah, Majik, Gypsy, Cuddles, Sissy, Roo, and you can see a bit of Tiglets tail near the 2005 as she had just walked out of the picture...
Gump and Callie are both too dignified to run for a feediung frenzy..they waited til things had calmed down and most of the others were gone before they went to take their time eating...
You cn also see where Roo had been chewing on poor Cuddles (then the beagle, Oliver, does not help by continuallt licking the wound)...but that is healing up nicely now with the Vitamin E oil Traci suggested, and every time we catch Oliver bugging her, he gets a time out in his kennel...
Now if I could get Sarah to quick licking and biting at the one on her shoulder...I think I will have to go get her one of those pretty Elizabethan collars to wear for a while!!

Love the pic, Tambrey, but....
stainless steel, how many times do I have to tell you, stainless steel!
(tip, yes, they are expensive, but each time you go to the store, pick up one or two, soon, you will have enough for the crew)

I know...I know....that is my next thing to do...
I was going to get them at WalMart, in the appliances aisle, as when I had last checked, they were less expensive than the pet dishes...but since I checked, our local WalMart decided to discontinue them or something...they have no more stainless steel mixing bowls...ggrrrrr...they only have glass ones...
I am going to have hubby check the stores on his weekly rounds...he is the local NCR rep for most all area stores, and WalMarts for sure...he has seven of them in his territory, (about an hour radius from home in any direction)...maybe some of the others still have them...if not...
anyone here have them at their local WalMarts?!
the dogs have stainless they have had for a while...

Have you checked their website? Sometimes, what you can't find in the store may be on the site, but be prepared items might be backordered.
Not sure about Walmart in your area, but ours is constantly discontinuing items or backordering.

That is quite a picture...I love it! Those look to me like ceramic bowls, which is what I have for my dogs......thought those were OK, and it is plastic which can cause problems. Whatever, that assembly line feeding is adorable!

Most ceramic is OK, but some colored imported ones have high amounts of lead and arsenic in the paint, which leaches out in the food over time.Marty wrote:That is quite a picture...I love it!
