Hello everyone,
I think I've made this boast before, but today really brought it out again for me. When we first brought Mr. Blue home, he was terrified of the rain; most of thunderstorm, but even light drizzles made him afraid and not wanting to go out to do his business. Now, six years later, he's willing to go out with me to do his business in the rain! I'm so proud of him, and I also think maybe this says something about us. I'm fairly convinced that Mr. Blue is no longer so afraid of the rain because he knows now that he won't be left out in it, that he'll always get to come in, get dried off, and get treated by his Mama and praised and cuddled. I'm not sure if this can really happen or not, but it seems to make sense. His fear of rainstorms wasn't based on any internal fear thing, but on the fact that he'd been caught out in them before, and was afraid of being left in it. Do you think this can happen? It makes sense to me, but then I'm the rather biased person attached to the big brave hound who will now walk with me in the rain, with only a reproachful look back at me to let me know he realizes how mean I am for making him go out to do his business But he was willing to walk in the rain 3 times today, so I figure that deserves a bit of a cheer!
I've got a little boast about our blue-eyed boy...
