Guess what time of year it is...pics

Post by Tina B and crew »

Yep...kitten season is in full swing...and I created my own fosters this year. Well, I didn't create them, but found them in our nieghbors yard. They are the product of a stray/feral. The mother is around but we chose to take these into the vet and have them checked especially the little gray one. His eyes were matted shut (warning..link to pic below...it was pretty bad so I didn't want to post it lest I upset someone) They were covered with fleas but otherwise seem healthy. I know they ideally should have stayed with their mother for another few weeks and I debated on letting them back out there or keeping them in. Keeping them in won because I don't want them to end up being feral, unfixed and in danger of goodness knows what out there. These are from a cat that the lady down the street feeds and doesn't get fixed :x At this point I'm ready to get a trap and start trapping and fixing..I just wish I could afford to  There is another kitten out there who was just too elusive for us to catch (if you could see my neighbors back yard you would understand..makes Sanford and Son look neat!)

Anway...here's pics of the little tykes...the brown one is female, the gray one male. The one still out there is black with a wee bit of white. The clinic named them Michelle and Levi...but we don't like the name Michelle for her...my hubby calls her Micki.

jason...frustrating doesn't even begin to describe it...I've buried 2 cats of hers and my daughter too one to the vet after being hit by a car...and the first one I saw hit I contacted her about. She simply came to my house, grabbed the box I had put it in to get it out of the road, and walked off without a word...and she never has any of them fixed so they breed and breed and breed.... :x

mentioned spay neuter?? I only wish I could...this woman, if she is walking down the street and sees you in your yard will cross over to the other side of the street to avoid you. You say hi and she walks faster and turns her head....odd isn't the word for her.

I have BTW spoken with animal services...they said they can cite her for having so many cats and not spaying and neutering...so I may have to go that route...

ive got a "person" in my area like that...i once resorted to shouting and it worked....i wont say what i shouted as it might stir an uproar on the board ;).

good luck with animal services...clearly something needs to be done and she is not likely to take action on her own since she probably is not aware of the problem. ](*,)

Frustrated beyond belief...I just found another one of the cats she feeds dead in the road last night....it had just been hit because it was still fairly warm  That makes 5...5 of her cats that I have had a hand in burying or taking to the vet after a car hit... :x

On a positive note the third kitten was found by my neighbor next door. Yesterday my neighbor across the street came over with kitten in hand and I thought "oh no...she wants me to take it" So I asked her kind of jokingly "so, are you keeping it?"..and she says "yep" :D

They're both soooo adorable! I hope you can do something about your neighbor though. Good luck!
