While Cheryl went to clean and feed at the shelter I mowed and wacked the grass. Of course the dogs stayed outside helping me with the work.
OTher than a few stops to eat and do some necessary shopping, the dogs were outside all day. Naturally once work was done I had the camera handy. I got some lucky shots, like this one of Prince and Inky interacting. Prince was going after the ball and Inky thought he was playing with her.
Prince was not the only one chasing the ball. He had some healthy competition from Coco and Prisy. Coco almost got this one. ..
In this picture he is telling Coco 'Stay away from my balls!" and Coco is replying 'you ain't got no balls. The balls belong to all of us!"
Prince puts everything he has into catching the balls. Here is another ball anticipation picture. I can just hear him saying, 'I got it! It's mine! Stay away!"
He is saying it again here, but Prissy is saying 'no you don't I've got it!" and Coco is saying 'You are both wrong, I have it!" I will now riddle you a riddle. Only one dog was wrong, how could that be?
It was a day of triumph for all. Even Coco caught a few balls.
There were disappointments too. Here Prissy gets a ball that Coco was sure she had.
Of course not all the dogs were into ball playing. They enjoyed such activities as visiting with teh old Rottweiler in the yard behind ours and getting some back fence gossip.
There was also the ever popular wandering around the yard sniffing each other's derriere.
The ever popular sneeze and head shake
and last but not least the ever popular chase each other around the yard and rough house.
Of course there is the usual price to pay for all this fun ... BATHS!!!! which are taking place as I type.
One last pictuer and a question. This is what I worked up to haev on the local public access station as info on the shelter. Any suggestions for changes or improvments? (I originally had a transparency of two dogs looking pitifully from a cage in the foreground, but that was deleted as being too complex.)

As usual I always enjoy seeing your pics Skeptic.
The Shelter pics looks great to me. Its noticeable, and shows healthy and active animals. Too many times I've heard some people bash shelters saying the animals are too ill or ill tempered to fool with. This pic shows the opposite. ( No I am not one who feels this way, I have several pets who I have adopted from our local shelter) My only suggestion is at the bottom of the page where the shelter manager name is it's difficult to read and the typing below that is even harder to read. Is that an email address or a website? You may want to consider lightening the background some so the print on top of it is easier to read. Other than that it looks great to me.
