Here's a fun fill-in-the blank poll for New Year's Eve!

Post by Mary Plummer »

What is the most revolting thing you've done for or with your dog?

For us, it's easy, because we just did it: MAKE LIVER BREAD!
We found the recipe a while back in "Your Dog" magazine. It's really easy; you just mix up a box of cornbread mix with liver ground in a food processor, and then bake it. Mr. Blue loves the stuff, but it really revolts my husband and I. Neither of us likes liver, and the stuff really stinks. We had some liver in the freezer, and thought that this would be a good way to bring in the new year for Mr. Blue. We made a double batch, and will freeze some and give some away to other dog friends of his. I don't ever mind scooping Blue poo, but liver bread really is disgusting! I bet a lot of the dogs on this board would love it! I know, why don't they come over and help Mr. Blue eat it so we can get the smell out of our house?

The most revolting thing I did was boil liver and cut it up in pieces for Bamm Bamm and Pebbles. They loved it but it looked revolting while it boiled!

I know by them liver treats at the store!

You know, I think I'm going to just buy him liver treats in the future! Mr. Blue is so happy with it, though. He actually laid down on the tile kitchen floor and waited there while the stuff was baking! The things we do for those pets we love... :)

Mick loves that liver bread. The first time I made it, he sat right in front of the oven the entire time it was baking. I got the recipe a few years ago from the Elkhound list I'm on. But, you're right, Mary, it sure does stink up the house! The last time I made it, I burned up the motor in my blender, too.

Hmmm, the most revolting thing I've done for Mick has to be cleaning up the puke and diarehhea when he was sick over the summer. Or maybe cleaning his hot spot with peroxide when he was a pup. Not really revolting, just stuff that had to get done.
