I've been knocking myself out trying to get part of my house ready as a guest suite. I resided in that side of the place for several years; moved back to this side 5 years ago and rented out the other suite as a sort of studio apartment. This fall turned the house back into one residence and have been having all kinds fun (and some not so fun) times refurbishing...
The pics with the paintings are Win at about age two - circa 1997 - 1998; she only got up on the bed maybe twice, and now gets up on it in my upstairs bedroom once a in a blue moon (her cushions are on the floor next to it) though she likes the sofa futon here in the study...
So, my son finally got the huge [I think I may have made a poor choice, but time will tell] new futon w/upper bunk installed last weekend, and Wednesday evening I was in that room sitting on the futon while trying to adjust the TV... and who should hop right up beside me and lie down to watch telly but Winnie the Poohdog... made herself right at home, just like no time had passed! Same room, same dog...
The first invitees have stated they will be honored to have Win and Q sleep by them, but the suite can be closed off from the rest of the house for persnickety guests or there is another futon in the other room of this suite... now a sort of kitchenette/playroom (I love playing with spaces - "homemaking" was truly my thing most of my life.)

Her royal Highness looks very comfy on the futon; I'm glad you've got it there for her Congrats on the home project; sounds like a lot of work!

That pup has it good...I love her in the 4th picture. Have tried everything to get Honey to sleep on her well padded scrumptious doggie bed when I am restless, but she always ends up in the middle of my bed! She would probably love the bottom bunk you have there...but no room. Sounds like you're having fun. I love to redecorate also...am always trying to make house look nice and improve things...fun!!! Win is a beautiful dog.
