In this next one, he's nesting in his even bigger leaf pile!
He's been enjoying the weekend (as have I! Sleeping in a bit was great). I was talking to a woman yesterday on one of our walks; she'd heard about and seen Mr. Blue's wound after he was attacked by the other dog. She told me about what one of her acquaintances had said when she told him about it. This idiot (to put it nicely) said, "Oh why should she care so much about a dumb mutt?" The lady responded that it was because he was my dog, and I loved him. I agreed with that entirely! I kind of feel sorry for people like that man, who don't seem open to the beauty, wonder and heartache of loving a dog.
Oh he definitely does! He urges my hubby to get out with the leaf blower during the fall, to make him "his" pile He also rewards him with plenty of Blue kisses for adding to his leaf nest. Occasionally, the two of them go out and sit in it together. I'd love a pic of that, but hubby resists all efforts in that direction.
Yes he does, Shelby's Mom! I can't help it; I'm addicted to buying him cute and goofy sales toys at the pet supply store. I can't help myself... I tell my hubby that I don't wear make-up or get my hair done, so all the money that would go to these things should then get spent on our pets

Shelby doesn't like anything plastic in her mouth. It's bizarre, I know--but she only likes plush or fleece toys.
One of her favorite toys is a really thick Army/Navy sock that we bunched up another sock inside the toe and tied a knot in it....she absolutely LOVES that the best.
When I pull out of the driveway, I can see her in the window with that in her mouth.
Shelby just has a small basket to hold her toys, but I'll bet Mr. Blue has a real toybox for his!
