Midsummer 2003: On the stairs of a funny old cottage whimsically named Thorn Castle by its human residents, two pets are at their respective watch posts... In silent cavemate language, Q the Cat from the Continuum calls down to his opposite number 'Win the dog: "Attention, large wolfbeast of the female type! You had better come up here - I think our caretaker mamasan is plotting something not good, like a journey in the monster spaceship!"

"Hmmm... can't you see I am busy with watching the outdoors as is mine job? A ride in the go-mobile, so what? I am liking that very much most every daytime, sometimes twice again same daylight!"
<img src="http://pic3.picturetrail.com/VOL19/9267 ... 004046.jpg">
"But I will go up by you... what is so special? Oh now I see - you mean the REAL journey to another World - - well, I like that too mostly: the man human I like much but don't see often will be the pilot and the boss - that part is fun for me, and you stay home here anyway, so why worry yourself?"
<img src="http://pic3.picturetrail.com/VOL19/9267 ... 004032.jpg">
"No, no, smart alec dog thing! The long, bad journey when I must go too and the only human is the mamacita... She is now putting out all the stuff to take in the ship - as when we sense the terrible storm is coming soon with danger, but now it is not THAT kind of storm, I think..."
<img src="http://pic3.picturetrail.com/VOL19/9267 ... 004014.jpg">
"Ach! I begin to know you are right, mine little Katzen friend! And I think maybe not good destination at all this once... I think I hear you speak 'MEOW MEOW' from your kennel up front by the mama human, and I speak 'WHINE WHINE' in my place, which we usually do not do when journey is still just starting - but now we begin to do it for quite a long while before... before... SOMETHING happens! I cannot tell what, but it is NOT good! Yet things will be all right later, I think..."
And Q replies, "Yes I know - I AM a Time Lord after all! But meanwhile we are going to go through a lot of trouble for this sillyness! Human earthlings... Bah!"

Re: Re the accident: Fantasy scenario w/pics [maybe]
LOL and what is the destination of this mysterious Journey?
Re: Re the accident: Fantasy scenario w/pics [maybe]
Well, the destination I had in mind was Willis Nelson Country: Austin and San Antone. But Winnie and Q and I ended up at about Mile 148 on the I-10, just the other side of Baton Rouge, with our spaceship wrecked...
Which reminds me - I've been meaning to ask you, do you have an e-mail addy for Port Allen Animal Control? Son got me the printout of the Parish officers to whom I will write a thank you letter, but the man who came to the scene for Win and Q and was so nice, and took such good care of them... all I know is that is his first name is Ed and I think he is a volunteer...
The part above about my animals KNOWING something was wrong is true... I had heard an odd 'harmonic' as early as Gonzales, and both pets began complaining, which they don't usually do in the early stages of a trip... and after I went over the Mississippi there was a worse sound, but I still thought it was the road... I have made that trip countless times in several types of vehicle... that particuliar stretch by Whisky Bay is one of my least favorites anyway. Son thinks the tire was damaged somehow between New Orleans and Baton Rouge - like it hit something, you know? Because he had checked the Taurus out and driven it just the day before...
No use speculating now - I sure do miss my good old zoom wagon But of course feel blessed my pets and I survived.
