Fur-Cuts

So, I like to take my three cats to the groomers every few months. It help keeps the fur down. Now it is starting to feel like I am giving an arm and a leg to get my kittys shaved and I quite frankly cant afford it. I was just curious if there were anyone out there who has attempted to shave their fine feline friends on their own. Does anyone have any suggestions how to do it? This is just a specualtion in my mind right now and I would be greatly obliged if any of you have any tips. Thank you!
