Just saw a TV prgm about the Walter Turken Foundation. Screened and specially trained (5 wks of training) volunteers help train shelter animals for the purpose of increasing adoptions. Seems like a great idea. They are saying that it works...and lets face it...the reason many animals are given up is behavior problems. Check it out on the net. (Walter Turken Training for Adoption Program) The only question in my mind is...although the animals are being socialized and taught obedience, what about house-breaking training...that is a biggie for people adopting.
