How's this for cold and callous????!

Post by DeVon »

I got a call last night from my former assistant with the humane society. Turns out a gal in Wichita was desperately trying to rescue two dogs who were in danger of being dumped at a shelter from hell just because the family didn't want dog hair in the new house they built. What really pissed me off is these two dogs are 9 years old, been with the same family since they were pups, and slept inside with the family every night. Their vet refused to put the dogs down (and my hat's off to that vet). What kind of human being dumps a pet of 9 years because they don't want the dog hair????!!!!! A collie rescue in CO is going to take both dogs, but transport needs to be arranged. So I'm taking over the 10 X 10 pen I had Lakota in, and two large dog houses to this gal who is picking the dogs up (she has 5 rescues of her own) over in Wichita this afternoon. Personally I hope the owners of those two dogs rot in hell, AFTER they get old and the family dumps their asses in a nursing home where they never see them again!!!!!!!

Wow...I agree with you on the fate I hope these people get! I'm a bit afraid our house would fall down if it weren't for the dog and cat hair holding it together :D I don't understand how someone could change like that: keeping a dog in your house for 9 years, and then deciding you don't like dog hair!

that's outrageous - I doubt if those people will have a good end, what goes around comes around.....

Thank you, DeVon, for looking out for these poor dogs that have just been thrown away. I can't even tell you how much I miss having Roxy's hair holding down the floor around here.

Thanks to you DeVon! So awful that pple could be so heartless - and those poor dogs will miss them in a way they don't deserve.

We had the same thing with two 16 year old dogs.....

The husband demanded that the wife get rid of them when they moved into the new house. She called the shelter, and was told that they were not adoptable at that age and would be put down. ... She never brought the dogs in and we are hoping she got rid of the husband!

What a jerk! My hubbie knew from the beginning that it was 'love me, love my dogs'. I know he loves the dogs - sometimes he's uncertain about me :D . I can understand unforseen circumstances that require someone to get rid of a pet, but that would be the hardest thing in the world for me to do, and I'd have to find a good home for them myself - I couldn't stand not knowing what happened to them.

Our house is like yours Mary - without the dog hair, I'm afraid we might spring a leak somewhere. And I doubt my cooking would taste the same without the added 'flavoring'!
