#10 showed up...

Post by DeVon »

She was sitting ON the welcome mat on my porch when Amber got home late from work last week (past midnight).

She's very tiny, and was very wormy. She likes to sleep beside me while I'm on the computer, thus the sweatshirt she's laying on.

Amber's been calling her Pumpkin. A friend of mine about 4 blocks northeast found a kitten about the same size/color, and found a good home for that one. Sounds like a litter's scattered about the general area.

Awww, she's so cute and looks very much at home (I love all the usb cords in the background....got numerous ones scattered around here too, LOL!)
Ditto on Traci's post about the vet visit and especially being tested.
My own 2 cents though is....is there any way you can find the others and trap them and mama???
Kitty kisses,
Debbie

She definitely looks like she's totally moved in and is quite comfortable. Congrats on the new addition.

She's got a vet appt in the morning. The only strays I have seen in the neighborhood are males. No other kittens have shown up.

I always have Strongid on hand to deworm. :)

Bad news. Pumpkin is at the vet's with a 104 fever. She also tested positive for leukemia.

The vet said she's closer to 3 months, but is possibly so tiny because she has a heart murmur.

This is all on Amber financially as I made a commitment to no more animals until I am out of college, working, and have the resources.

We both cried today. I lost my little wire-haired terrier mix, Pikachu, in February to cancer. I was still recuperating from my surgery and Amber was with her when she was euthanized.

She says she can't make that call on Pumpkin.

My heart hurts.

So sorry about this turn of events. You and Amber can take comfort in the fact that Pumpkin knew whose door to come to, and got to feel cared for and loved in this brief time she had left! Still, the hurt is there... wish I could help
