Not sure if anyone has heard about the riots here but if you watch or read the news you must have. It has certainly made things interesting! I've seen a few of the demonstrations and was downtown the night they burned down the Christmas tree...so sad all of the fires and destruction. But things have calmed down this week.
I did my last feeding of the cats and that was quite emotional for me. I have really come to love these cats so much and want to take them home with me. It's been tough to get photos if them because by the time I get over to feed it's close to dusk and the lighting is not that great. But I did manage to get a few photos of some of my favorite cats last week. Don't get me wrong, I love all of them, but a few have special places in my heart....sorry for any blurriness....
This one reminds me so much of our cat Cricket who now lives with my daughter....except this one has a tail. I guess in Greek Cricket would be Κρυκετ
This little tabby and white girl is the sweetest thing in the world. They are home to re-home here eventually. It's tough to find people who want "indoor" only cats here because the culture considers cats and dogs not as pets....that is slowly changing though! I really want to take her home with me...
This guy is beautiful...he reminds me of my daughter's cat Levi. He's not approachable though....in Greek Levi would be Λεβη
This cat really tugged at my heart. She kind of reminds me of Willow (which in Greek would be "Βηλλω" as far as I know, and pronounced Villow since there is no "w" sound in Greek...I can't wait to see my Willow!! At first she was unapproachable but I kept talking to her each time and she eventually let me pet her when she was eating. The last time I fed them she tried to follow me
Trying to get into the food....
The good news is all of these have been spayed or neutered and vaccinated...and at last vet visit they were all healthy!!
I leave Athens Friday and am headed back to Turkiye for a bit. Going to spend Christmas in Cappadocia and a few days in Istanbul and maybe visit some other places before I head home....then maybe my wanderlust will be cured for a while! I'm sure Willow hopes so. (and Tim)

Cappadocia is so interesting! It's been over 30 years since I was there, but I found it to be fascinating.
Beautiful cats - I hope the people you leave behind will continue with your good work.
