Indroducing Emmy! With pics.
My new little cuddle-bug, cuddled up on my leg on the couch. She's more interested in snugglin' than exploring her new surroundings, which is okay by me!
And I'm sure there will be many more to come.

Yeah, because she was a stray and came in through the stray program, they did it to mark her as an altered stray so if animal control for some reason picks her up with no tag, they know not to put her down because someone's caring for her. I didn't like it, but they insisted, and not everywhere around here has a microchip scanner, so I guess it's better than them thinking she's a feral stray and euthanizing her if she slips out the door.
It's not my favorite method but around here, it's probably better for her. The guy who runs the humane society up here HATES cats and destroys every cat they bring in within 24 hours if no one claims it IMMEDIATELY. It's sick. But they release the ones with the clipped ear since they know they can't reproduce. So if a little ear clip keeps her alive if she somehow escapes my care, then... it's worth it.
'Course, if these idiots would just shell out for a microchip scanner... but this is the country and you can't teach some old dogs new tricks...

She's still napping curled up next to my leg. I went into the bathroom a little bit ago to get allergy meds, and Izzy was napping peacefully in the sink. So... I'm just gonna let things be. If one or the other gets restless, I'll address it, but everyone's so calm right now, why upset the status quo?
I'm very happy to have her here with me.

She's such a precious little girl!
Did they test her? (with the combo or just FELV?)
What vaccinations did they give?
What deworming protocol did they use? And what flea medication?
(you know me)

I don't know what tests specifically they used, but she did test negative for FELV and FIV/FIP. I know for sure she got the rabies vac; I'd have to look at the paperwork again to see the rest (and I would, but she's still sleeping on me, and I don't have the heart to wake her). Don't know what they de-wormed her with, but they used Revolution for fleas/ticks.
Regardless, both she and Izzy are going to go into the vet that will be our regular one once we move into the new house for boosters on any shots they still need before we can move on post, and that'll be in about three weeks. If I'm not making sense, forgive me; the allergy meds are kicking my butt but I can't sleep it off because my phone won't stop ringing today.

SW- she is a DOLL! I can see why you were so drawn to her. (Or did she adopt you?) That is great...she is a lucky little kitty.

This is where she's been for the past several hours, with the occasional position change. When she's out, I can move her around like a ragdoll. She'll pop an eye open, then go back to sleep. She's so agreeable, it's funny. The only thing she doesn't like is to be picked up.
