My two cats have recently decided that they no longer wish to be delegated to below people level when resting. They are CONSTANTLY on my kitchen counters, dining room table, Refridgerator and microwave.
I know that they are not dirty but I still do not care to be picking cat hair out of my food everyday. The other things is that they also leave little flecks of dandruff-ishy stuff all over. and I mean ALL over and the hair seems to be more than before
is this normal? Last summer they were just kittens - so I dunno ...
Please let me know if you have any solutions to keeping them off - at least the kitchen counters and mocrowave. The dining room table I can just leave covered with a tablecloth.
Thanks!
Michelle

Cat Hair & Dandruff?

Re: Cat Hair & Dandruff?
I can sure relate to that!!
In the past I have gotten a roll of plastic carpet protector, the kind with the nubbies on one side, and cut that o fit the countertop or appliance top...they do not like the feel of the nubbies under their feet...
It is kind of a hassle to put it on and off the counter, especially if you have canisters, etc...I guess you could cut it to fit around them...But I have finally found that I actually like having NOTHING on my kitchen counters...well, okay, I have the utensil jar by the stove, but that is it...
Do you give them regular brushing with a soft cat brush?...do this once or twice a week per cat and it should help with the shedding...
As for the dandruff, you might want to check with your vet for skin conditions, or thyroid or other issues...and if all checks fine, talk with him or her about diet...it could be the food that they are getting causing them to have dry shedding fur and skin....
