Thanks Traci....
I had to go to the vet this morning for a couple of reasons...one to get the Frontline for the dogs for the month...and two...to take one of the itty bitty...eyes still closed... black kittens in We noticed an abcess right under its right eye yesterday...got it in and opened...really just had to end up picking the scab off and it oozed out..got it cleaned up and antibiotics...but it still just would not suckle...not a bottle...not from mom...and even a syringe it just let run back out of its mouth....the side of its face was too swollen still and I am sure painful...so this morning, when it was laying there crying and very weakened...I made a decision to let it cross the Bridge I could not come to work knowing it was laying there crying like that and we had done what we could for as small as it was....
But I also talked about neutering ALL of the males...our bill is at ZERO right now...for a rare change...because I paid it off this morning...$192...a small (for us!) balance and the remainder for the frontline for the 6 dogs...they are not charging me to give the baby that final shot...
When the guys are done...I am going to ask for a printout of the final bill for ALL of the guys adn present it to him and ask him how he expects to make arrangements to help pay it back...and also rather than saying he is putting food in the shed across the street...I would rather he give me the $$$ or the bag of food...I will feed them at my place since that is where they are all eating anyways...
I figure neutering the guys is a start...easier to get done...less expensive..and they are all so territorial now that I think...I hope..they will keep any suitors away until I can rehome or spay the gals....
So next week...Tues-Fri..I will take in 3-4 males a day to get done...they can all be in misery together!!
As for shelter....I have the truck topper that will be set on tarp with blankets inside...and have bales of hay around the outside...some prefer to go under our porch....and he does have the shed and they can get in through the end sliding doors...and he also has a big well made doghouse against the side of it and a smaller quanset type building...maybe only 4 feet tall by about 4x8 in size that we will put bedding into for them...
I just need to turn the openings of those so they do not face west

Re: 2010 kittens
Tambrey so sorry for your loss of the little one. Am saying prayers that the financial need will be met for all the kitties care.
Re: 2010 kittens
thanks mompaws....
well...I will be filing itty bitty claws tonight after my Mary Kay party....I called my mom to take another one to the vet today...it got to come home though....
It got clawed, and abcessed...on its left front foot and was swollen larger than its little paw It weight 1/4 pound and no way could be put under, so the vet carefully used a needle to extract pus from the wound, then cleaned it and gave it an antibiotic shot....it is back home with its moms now...
The two larger ones are starting to eat dry kibble that I put in there for the Moms...it is funny to watch them....I also have some stage2 KMR for them and they sure do make a mess of things...LOL

Re: 2010 kittens
It's unusual for tiny kittens to develop absesses, so please make sure their environment is safe (i.e., no sharp metal objects, clean food dishes, no nails or debris where they sleep etc). Also monitor the two queens and make sure they are actually attentive to all the babies and not neglecting them, or that one may be too agressive with the other's litter. Keep their area clean and dry to ward off flies and other bugs that might bite and cause wounds.

Re: 2010 kittens
Thanks Traci...they are still in a cardboard box on thr front porch..big enough for everyone...no food dishes or anything else in there except cats and a dishtowel...
The moms are both attentive...taking turns nursing them all...or laying outside the box nearby....
We do have flies and mosquitoes badly this year...but I dare not spray the yard...we recently got a 1 acre blacklight bug zapper and have to claen it out about every 2 days...it goes off like fireworks at night and has helped tremendously so far...we can actually stand outside now and not get eaten up!!
The only thing I can think is that the claws on the larger two are too sharp, and the fact they are moving about more...might have clawed the smaller ones...they do all sleep in a pile together...and even the little ones seem to have extremely SHARP pointyl little claws...
I have a glass file that I just LOVE for myself...I'll use that on them tonight...it is a smooth file from Austria, I believe...no rough sides..just a very fine etching in the glass, but it sore files nicely...not like the sandpaper cardboard ones you can buy for cheap!!
And I like that I can wash it in alcohol after I am done to keep it clean!
